Welcome to Dafydd's World of WiP's!

Below is a list of my game music remixes in various stages of completedness. Some are old and not likely to ever be finished, but what they all have in common is I think they're reasonably cool and it's a shame to have them only on my hard drive where no one else can listen to them. I've tried to order them in somewhat chronologically, but I don't remember in exactly what order I made them...

I've listed the source tracks for each remix and, where possible, made the tracknames into links to the originals. If you are interested in a collaboration for any of these remixes, or just want to comment on something, feel free to contact "wip" at this domain.

At the bottom of this page is, or will be, a list of songs that I plan to or want to remix at some point, or that I'd really like to see someone else make a remix of, in case you're a mixer yourself and would like to give it a shot.

WiP list

Warcraft II On this side of the portal halfway+ DOS
Human Battle 1 I started making this after playing a lot of Red Alert and Starcraft and using their soundtracks, rather than that of Warcraft II, as inspiration. It features powertools, bitcrush, NES leads etc. I would like to use a tempo-matching scratch of the sound test as an intro, but I haven't managed to create a good enough one myself. Help would be appreciated there. I also plan to make a "rap" using speech from the mission briefings.

Star Fox -untitled- just started SNES
Asteroid This is a remix of the Asteroid and some other theme. It's got some distorted drums, strings, chip blips and other things in it. Being in such an early stage it's very incoherent and messy, but still nearly gives me shivers near the end when the shakers come in and the whole arrangement moves into a major key. It probably won't have the same effect on anyone else, but who knows, you might like at least a little bit?

Mega Man -untitled- just started GB
Ending, Unknown I fooled around with a keyboard and played this. The "unknown" theme is a hidden track not accessible in the game, but it's in the gbs (track 15). These themes could make a really awesome mix in the right hands, especially in a more rock like version. I actually wrote some lyrics for this, but I don't sing very well...

Ninja Gaiden -untitled- just started NES
The Masked Devil I'm not sure about the name of the source tune here, not having actually played the game a lot... Anyway, this remix starts out with some distorted drums, something I've really taken a liking to recently, and plays nearly identically to the original for the most part. I have a melody for this, but since I don't feel confident enough about my voice I haven't added any vocals yet. But once I do it's going to sound awesome.

Mega Man II -untitled- halfway- GB
Wood Man This sounds pretty horrible in the intro, but it gets better. Another one of those songs I've planned some vocals for, and, as such, another one that currently lacks a melody. The guitars here are all synths and samples, using horrible Reason 4 distortion, but I'm trying to add a recording a friend of mine made for me, which should make at least the intro sound better.
